Psalm 71:23 (NKJV): My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing to You, and my soul, which You have redeemed.
We have a saying these days: say it with your full chest. It basically means that if you are saying something important that you should say it with confidence and meaning. If you believe what you are saying, then make sure you show that you do. It is one thing to sing with your lips. Many people are good at mimicking meaning when they sing or talk. But if you sing from your soul, you cannot hide what you truly believe and feel. When you sing from your soul, you reveal the truth that lies inside of you. So, we can parrot the words in worship songs with our lips without really glorifying the LORD our God. It is only when we sing full chest from deep in our souls that we show that we love the LORD our God. When we sing full chest from our souls, the truth of our faith is revealed to all. Today, may we sing from our souls to the God who redeemed us and shows us great love each day.
